PageMe (GUI)

21-01-0000

The PageMe general user interface (GUI) package provides a cost effective solution to many on-site paging requirements, providing full alphanumeric paging from a local PC.

The system has been designed in response to a market demand for an easy-to-use, flexible, low cost solution to a wide variety of applications.

The package comprises the PageMe (Windows™) software application, a paging transmitter and a PC-to-transmitter interconnecting cable.

The Salcom paging transmitter interfaces directly to a serial port on the computer using the cable provided, and is mounted away from the computer to prevent interference. The standard local antenna provides satisfactory coverage for most applications, but where it is necessary to provide extended coverage an external antenna can be provided.

This version of the software is intended for use on a single PC and is not intended for multiple seat access (please see “PageMe-Server” for this capability).

The software does not require a dedicated (standalone) computer and can be used on a PC which is used for other applications.

Full on-line and context sensitive help is available simplifying the system configuration and maintenance tasks such as deleting or modifying users and groups.

There are 10 “buttons” which can be programmed with frequently used messages and a single button provided for re-sending the last message.

The program can handle an unlimited number of individual pagers or groups and messages can be sent to individual pagers or groups of pagers.

A log of all calls is retained for reference as required.

As an additional feature, some transmitters can be pre-programmed to send a particular message to a specific pager when one of up to twelve inputs are activated. These inputs require either a switch or a clean relay contact. Using this facility, a night bell could be programmed to page an on-site security guard, or a switch at the inwards goods area could page a storeman.

Ethernet capability on the 20-62 allows PageMe to send the same message to multiple 20-62's for sites where more than one transmitter is required, irrespective of distance between sites.

Many organisations have a problem communicating with staff who are on the move within their premises which could be solved by the installation of an on-site paging system.
